CHEVRONS (#) Chevrons date from the 1300's and are one
of the oldest surviving types of large Trade Beads. Originating in Venice
they were traded throughout Africa, Asia, and, later, the Americas. Layers
of different colours of glass rods form a multipointed star when viewed
on end, This labour-intensive work is reflected in the price, Also, due
to their hand-made nature, sizes will vary. The perfect beads for that
'old-time' effect in necklaces, earrings, trimming. We believe these offer
a significant selection for a variety of projects in quality beads at reasonable
prices. When you investigate other Chevron suppliers always ask if' they
are built up from layers of coloured glass rods (as are these), or are
the lines painted on (which gives you a much cheaper bead, in both senses
