GUSTOWE' FRAME All much the same size.  Since these are heavy wood splints you can not adjust them except by soaking and wiring into shape for slight changes; for more significant change to size you might have to disassemble, soak and reshape. Also make a good solid base for homed headdresses, Tab at rear is left on (but perhaps shortened slightly if needed) for Mohawk style.  All others have this trimmed off.

HAND DRUM (Tom Tom) FRAME: Oneida Made Depending on the size these are made from 12 to 16 pieces of 3/4' pine, glued, and pegged twice to produce a very strong, warp resistant frame.  Outside shaved to give a smooth, round profile.  Upper rim has been beveled to prevent cutting into the drum cover

SWEET GRASS Diameter, length of braids will vary, depending on month and growing conditions when gathered.  Orders filled from whatever size is in the case currently being emptied.  Braids of sweetgrass are used by many First Nations peoples as an incense and as an attachment to Medicine Pipes and other ceremonial equipment.  Also used as a freshener in clothing drawers.

IMITATION SINEW Our "SIN-NEW® " is a flat, waxed viscose thread; looks, feels much like the old-time animal fiber thread.

(See 22-79099) Tip can be cut at an angle and twisted to make a 'self-needle' for threading beads, hair pipes.  Can be split with needle or finger nails to make finer threads.  Extremely strong -- perfect for crafts with a lot of stress and strain (breastplates, chokers, bracelets) and where long-lasting and hard-wearing stitching is needed, as in moccasins, leather garments.  Be sure to specify colour choice: white, tan (a.k.a. 'natural'), black, yellow, red.
